The Bible is clear: the very first step for someone who’s chosen to repent and follow Christ is the sacrament of baptism. We are baptized to follow the examples set by Christ (Mark 1:9), because Christ commanded it (Matthew 28:19-20), and because it demonstrates that we are believers (I John 2:3; Romans 6:3-4; Acts 2:41; Acts 8:12).
Obedience in baptism says “I belong to God.” It is a public witness to your faith and a symbol of the transformation of your life – that you have repented of sin, died to self, and alive in God. In this way, it illustrates Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Colossians 2:12).
Baptism at Grace is a true celebration of changed lives. We celebrate it together to rejoice in the hearts God is transforming at our church.
